Just 3 miles away is Sedbergh, nestling in the foothills of the magnificent Howgill Fells. Sedbergh is a town full of character with cobbled yards and fascinating historic houses, many of which bear the hallmarks of the old knitting and woollen trades which took place in the town. Market day is Wednesday and there is a good range of shops and eating houses. Sedbergh is also home to the renowned Sedbergh School and just outside is England’s highest cascade waterfall, Cautley Spout.
